Step One: Product and Mold Development
Every plastic component begins with geometry.
Actuators, closures, pump bodies and other internal parts need accurate dimensions because they eventually have to work together inside a very small mechanical system.
For customized projects, the development stage may involve drawings, samples, tooling evaluation and mold preparation.
Step Two: Injection Molding
Many spray pump components are produced through injection molding.
The challenge is not only producing the shape. Dimensional stability is important because parts must fit, move and seal correctly after assembly.
A visually acceptable component may still cause problems if a critical dimension is outside the required tolerance.
Step Three: Metal Components and Surface Treatment
Depending on the pump design, metal springs, collars or decorative parts may also be required.
Premium fragrance and personal care packaging often uses aluminum decoration to create a more refined appearance.
Functional components and decorative components therefore follow different manufacturing routes before coming together later in the process.
Step Four: Component Assembly
A pump contains multiple parts that need to be assembled in the correct sequence.
Automation can improve consistency for high-volume production, while process controls are still required to identify abnormal components or assembly conditions.
Step Five: Functional Testing
The important question is not simply whether the assembled pump looks correct.
Does it prime properly?
Does the actuator return?
Is the dosage consistent?
Does the closure seal correctly?
Is there leakage under the intended conditions?
These are the kinds of questions that determine whether a dispensing pump is ready for the next stage.
Step Six: Final Packaging and Shipment
After inspection, finished components need to be packed in a way that protects them from deformation, contamination and unnecessary movement during transport.
For export projects, outer-carton configuration is also part of practical packaging planning because component dimensions and quantity affect shipping efficiency.
For buyers comparing spray pump manufacturers, looking at the manufacturing process can be more revealing than simply comparing unit prices.
Two pumps may look almost identical in a photograph, while the tooling, process control and consistency behind them can be very different.
